Who we are

iDesign Souq (“we”, “us”, “our”) designs and makes personalized decor, lighting, and gifts in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. When we say “personal information”, we mean any information that identifies you — like your name, email, or delivery address.

This policy covers idesignsouq.com and any order you place with us. By using our site, you agree to the practices described here.

What we collect

We only collect what we need to design your order, get it to your door, and keep your account safe.

Information you give us

• Order details — your name, email, phone number, and shipping and billing addresses.
• Personalization content — the names, messages, dates, and any photos or artwork you upload for a custom item.
• Account information — if you create an account, your email and saved addresses or wishlist.
• Messages — anything you send us through our contact form, email, or a product review.

Information we collect automatically

• Device and usage data — your browser type, approximate location, the pages you visit, and how you got here.
• Cookies — small files that keep your cart working and help us understand what's useful. See Cookies & analytics.

What we never see

We do not store your full card number. Payments are handled directly by our payment processor (Stripe), so your card details go straight to them, encrypted, and never touch our servers.

How we use it

We use your information to:

• Produce, package, and deliver your order — including printing exactly what you personalized.
• Send order confirmations, shipping updates, and answers to your questions.
• Process payments and protect against fraud.
• Improve our products, site, and service.
• Send you marketing emails — only if you opt in, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
• Meet our legal and tax obligations in the UAE.

We will never sell your personal information. Full stop.

Cookies & analytics

Cookies keep your shopping cart from emptying when you move between pages and remember your preferences. We also use a few trusted analytics tools to see which products and pages people find helpful, so we can make the site better:

• Google Analytics (via Google Tag Manager) — anonymous, aggregated traffic insights.
• Microsoft Clarity — anonymized heatmaps and session trends that show where the site confuses people.

You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings at any time. Essential cookies (like the one running your cart) are needed for the site to work; turning these off may break some features.

Who we share it with

We share information only with the partners who help us run the shop, and only the minimum they need. Each is bound to protect your data:

• Stripe — to process payments securely.
• Shipping & courier partners — to deliver your order.
• Email provider (Resend) — to send order and account emails.
• Hosting & infrastructure (Cloudflare) — to run and protect the site.
• Analytics providers — as described above.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our customers, and our team.

International data transfers

Some of the providers who help us run the shop — such as Stripe, Resend, Cloudflare, and our analytics tools — operate servers outside the United Arab Emirates. When your information is processed abroad, we only work with providers that apply appropriate safeguards, in line with the cross-border transfer requirements of the UAE Personal Data Protection Law.

How we protect it

We protect your information with encryption in transit (HTTPS), restricted access, and reputable processors. No method of transmission over the internet is ever 100% secure, but we work hard to safeguard your data and to act quickly if anything ever goes wrong.

How long we keep it

We keep order records for as long as needed to fulfil your order, support you afterwards, and meet UAE accounting and tax requirements. Personalization files (like uploaded photos) are kept only as long as we need them to produce and support your order, and are then deleted. You can ask us to remove your account information at any time — see below.

Your rights

In line with UAE data protection law (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on Personal Data Protection), you have the right to:

• Access — ask what personal information we hold about you, and get a copy.
• Correction — fix anything that's wrong or out of date.
• Erasure — ask us to delete your information, where we're not required to keep it.
• Restriction — ask us to pause certain processing of your data.
• Portability — receive your information in a portable format, or have it transferred.
• Objection — object to processing, including marketing, and withdraw consent at any time.

To exercise any of these, just contact us. We'll respond within 30 days, as required by the PDPL.

Children's privacy

Our store is intended for adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has given us their information, please contact us and we'll remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the “last updated” date at the top, and for significant changes we'll make it clear on the site. Please check back now and then.
